Defect
Improper manufacturing work on the vacuum tube of the brake booster allows residue to enter the check valve inside the tube. Continued use in this condition may cause the check valve to seize and, in the worst case, increase brake pedal effort above normal.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the complete vacuum tube assembly with conforming parts.
