Defect

On diesel vehicles, the turbocharger rotary shaft seal packing is improperly designed. Continued use during extended idling allows turbocharger lubricating oil to accumulate in the intake manifold. During acceleration, this oil is drawn into the combustion chamber and expelled as white smoke from the exhaust pipe. In the worst case, vehicle speed may temporarily become difficult to reduce.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, replace the turbocharger bearing housing with a corrected part.

状況

ディーゼル車の過給機において、回転軸シール部のパッキンの構造が不適切なため、この ままの状態で使用を続けると、アイドリング状態が長時間続いて場合、過給機の潤滑油が 吸気管へ溜まるおそれがあり、加速時などに燃焼室へ吸い込まれ、排気管より白煙が発生 する。最悪の場合、一時的に車速が下がりにくくなるおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、対策品のベアリングハウジングに交換する。
