Defect

On vehicles equipped with a power steering system for dual-front-axle configurations, the hydraulic hose for the auxiliary sub-booster — which reduces steering effort for the second front axle — was installed in an excessively bent condition on certain vehicles. Repeated full-lock steering maneuvers may damage the hose and, in the worst case, cause power steering fluid to leak, resulting in a severe increase in steering effort.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, replace the hydraulic hose and, on U-FW series vehicles only, replace the sub-booster with the corrected parts, and add a hydraulic pipe.

状況

 前輪2軸車用の動力式かじ取り装置(パワー・ステアリング)において、前後輪(前か ら2軸目の車輪)の操舵力を軽減させるための補助用倍力装置(サブ・ブースタ)の油圧 ホースを過度に曲げた状態で取り付けたものがあり、このままの状態で一杯にハンドルを 切るような操作を繰り返すと、当該ホースが損傷し、最悪の場合、パワー・ステアリング 用オイルが漏れ、ハンドルが著しく重くなるおそれがある。

改善措置

 全車両、油圧ホース及びサブ・ブースタ(U-FW系車のみ)を対策品と交換するとと もに、油圧パイプを追加する。
