Issue
The drain hole in the battery storage box is incorrectly positioned. Rainwater and other moisture that enters the box washes acid residue left on the battery vent during manufacturing, then drips through the drain hole onto the fuel pump discharge pipe, causing cracks to form in the pipe. Continued use may allow fuel to leak from the cracked area.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the battery storage box with a corrected part that incorporates an added drain tube. Inspect the fuel pump discharge pipe for acid residue. If residue is present, replace the complete fuel pump assembly with a new unit. If no residue is found, inspect the discharge pipe for cracks and replace the complete fuel pump assembly with a new unit if any cracks are found.

状況
バッテリ収納箱の水抜き穴の位置が不適切なため、収納箱に浸入した雨水等が、バッテリ製造時にバッテリの排気口に付着した酸性分を洗い流し、水抜き穴から燃料ポンプの吐出配管に滴下し配管に亀裂を生じるものがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると亀裂部から燃料が漏れるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、排水管を追加した対策品のバッテリ収納箱と交換するとともに、燃料ポンプ吐出配管の酸性分の有無を点検し、成分が有るものは燃料ポンプ一式を新品と交換する。また、成分がないものは燃料ポンプ吐出配管を点検し、配管に亀裂があるものは燃料ポンプ一式を新品と交換する。
