Issue
In the electric power steering system, the power-assist control sensor (torque sensor) assembled in the steering gear box has an improperly treated contact surface. Continued use in this condition may cause poor contact, preventing the sensor from outputting a correct signal. In the worst case, the warning lamp illuminates and power-assist function is lost.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, verify the steering gear box serial number. On affected units, replace the steering gear box with an assembly incorporating the corrected/revised sensor.

状況
電動式パワーステアリングにおいて、ギヤボックスに組み付けているパワーアシスト量制 御用センサ（トルクセンサ）の接点部の表面処理が不適切なため、そのままの状態で使用 を続けると、接触不良が生じて当該センサから適正な信号が出力されなくなるものがあり 、最悪の場合、警告灯が点灯してパワーアシスト機能が損なわれるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、ステアリングギヤボックスの製造番号を確認し、該当するものは当該センサの対 策品を組付けたステアリングギアボックスと交換する。
