Defect
In the rectifier, inadequate moisture control during manufacture of the power module (composite electronic element) may cause the bond between the cooling-fin case and the power module to separate when the engine is operated at high speed for an extended period following prolonged idling. When this bond fails, the temperature of the rectifying elements inside the power module rises above their heat tolerance, causing loss of charging current control. Continued use may result in insufficient battery charging. In the worst case, the engine may stall while driving and be unable to restart.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the rectifier with a corrected part.

状況
整流器において、パワーモジュール(電子用複合素子)製造時の吸湿管理が不適切なため、長時間のアイドリング後にエンジンを高回転で持続した場合、冷却フィン付きケースとパワーモジュールの接着が剥がれ、パワーモジュール内部の整流素子の温度が、耐熱温度以上に上昇し、発電電流の制御ができなくなるものがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、バッテリが充電不足となり、最悪の場合、走行中にエンジンが停止して再始動できなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、整流器を対策品と交換する。
