Defect

The driver's floor mat has an improperly designed accelerator pedal stopper attachment structure, which allows the floor mat to lift during entry, exit, or pedal operation. If the accelerator pedal is repeatedly pressed to full travel while the mat is in the raised position, the lower end of the pedal contacts the stopper section and wears a hole through the floor mat. In the worst case, the accelerator pedal may become caught in the hole and prevent engine speed from returning to idle.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, replace the floor mat with the corrected/revised part.

状況

運転者席フロアマットにおいて、アクセルペダルストッパ部の取付構造が不適切なため、乗降やペダル操作等でフロアマットが浮くことがあり、そのままの状態でアクセルペダルの全開操作を繰り返し行うと、ペダル下端部が当該ストッパ部と干渉し、フロアマットに穴があく場合がある。そのため、最悪の場合、アクセルペダルが穴に引っかかり、エンジン回転が下がらなくなるおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、フロアマットを対策品と交換する。
