Defect

On low-bed dump vehicles, insufficient consideration was given to the positioning of the rear combination lamps. During driving, ice, snow, and debris thrown up by the rear wheels may accumulate and form a solid mass against the seal on the back of the lamp housing. Continued use in this condition causes the seal to deform, allowing water to intrude into the lamp interior. As a result, the tail lamp and stop lamp may remain continuously illuminated or fail to illuminate.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, the rear combination lamps are replaced with corrected/revised parts.
