Defect
During vehicle assembly, the bolt securing the intermediate shaft to the steering gear was improperly assembled and may not have been tightened to the specified torque. Continued use may cause the bolt to disengage. In the worst case, the intermediate shaft separates from the steering gear, resulting in loss of steering control.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the condition of the bolt and tighten to the specified torque. If the bolt has fallen out, install a new replacement.

状況
(2)インターミディエイトシャフトにおいて、車両組立工程の組付け作業が不適切なため、ステアリングギヤに締結するボルトが規定トルクで締め付けられていないものがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けるとボルトが外れ、最悪の場合、ステアリングギヤからインターミディエイトシャフトが抜け、操舵不能になるおそれがある。
改善措置
(2)全車両、当該ボルトの状態を点検し、規定トルクで締付けを行う。また、ボルトが脱落していた場合は、新品のボルトを取付ける。
