Defect
In large tractors, an improperly designed trailer brake lamp circuit may cause the circuit diode to burn out when the brake lamps are illuminated. This causes the trailer brake lamps to go dark and triggers a brake lamp fault warning. In the worst case, the burned diode may lead to a vehicle fire.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, remove the diode from the trailer brake lamp circuit. On vehicles not using a semiconductor relay for electrical component control, add a relay and sub-harness to that circuit.

状況
大型トラクタにおいて、トレーラ側ブレーキランプの回路が不適切なため、ブレーキランプ点灯時に当該回路のダイオードが焼損する場合がある。そのため、トレーラ側ブレーキランプが不灯になってブレーキランプ異常の警告が表示され、最悪の場合、火災に至るおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、トレーラ側ブレーキランプ回路からダイオードを削除する。また、半導体リレーによる電装品制御を行っていない車両は、当該回路にリレーとサブハーネスを追加する。
