Defect
On large tractors, the bolts and nuts securing the spare tire carrier to the vehicle body were improperly torqued during assembly, resulting in insufficient clamping force. Continued use in this condition allows driving vibration to loosen the bolts and nuts. In the worst case, the bolts and nuts may come off entirely, causing the carrier and spare tire to detach from the vehicle and creating a hazard to other traffic.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the carrier mounting bolts and nuts and tighten them to the specified torque. If the bracket or bolts and nuts are damaged, replace them with new parts.

状況
大型トラクタにおいて、スペアタイヤキャリアを車体に固定するボルト/ナットの締付けが不適切なため、締付けトルクが不足していることがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、走行時の振動等によりボルト/ナットが緩み、最悪の場合、ボルト/ナットが外れ、当該キャリアとともにスペアタイヤが脱落し、他の交通の妨げとなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該キャリアの固定ボルト/ナットを点検し、規定トルクで締付ける。 なお、ブラケット及びボルト/ナットに損傷がある場合は新品と交換する。
