Defect
In the wiper system, the software in the vehicle master control unit that governs wiper operation is incorrect. When the wiper switch is shifted to low (Lo) speed at the moment the wiper pauses during intermittent mode operation, arc discharge may occur at the wiper relay contact points. This causes excessive current to flow in the wiper power circuit, blowing the fuse and rendering the wipers inoperative, which may prevent the driver from maintaining adequate forward visibility.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, reprogram the vehicle master control unit with the corrected/updated software.

状況
窓ふき器において、ワイパーの作動を制御する車両マスター制御ユニットのプログラムが不適切なため、間欠モードでワイパーが作動中、一時停止する瞬間にワイパースイッチを低速（Ｌｏ）モードに切り替えると、ワイパーリレーの接点部でアーク放電が発生することがある。そのため、ワイパーの電源回路に過電流が流れヒューズが切れて、ワイパーが不作動となり必要な視野を確保できなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、車両マスター制御ユニットのプログラムを対策プログラムに書き換える。
