Defect
On heavy-duty trucks, the heel stand of the accelerator pedal is incorrectly shaped, causing excessive force to be applied to the hinge section. In the worst case, the hinge may fracture.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the accelerator pedal with a corrected part and add a cutout to the floor carpet.
