Defect
On large trucks, the closed ventilator (blow-by gas recirculation system) is improperly designed, causing the ventilator element to become clogged before its scheduled replacement interval. This raises crankcase internal pressure, forcing engine oil into the intake system and producing white smoke and power loss. Continued use may cause unintended engine speed increase or a reduction in engine oil level sufficient to damage the engine and, in the worst case, result in a vehicle fire.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the closed ventilator with a corrected part. Additionally, notify owners of the importance of timely and thorough element replacement at the specified service interval.

状況
大型トラックのエンジンにおいて、クローズドベンチレータ(ブローバイガス還元装置)の構造が不適切なため、ベンチレータエレメントが定期交換時期より前に目詰りすることがある。そのため、クランクケースの内圧が上昇しエンジンオイルが吸気系に流入し、白煙ならびに出力不足となり、最悪の場合、意図せずエンジン回転の上昇や、エンジンオイル量が減少して、エンジンが破損し火災に至るおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、クローズドベンチレータを対策品と交換する。また、当該エレメントの定期交換の重要性と確実な交換について注意喚起を行う。
