Defect

On medium-duty trucks, the center bearing mounting bracket has insufficient strength. Rotational vibration from the propeller shaft causes cracks to develop in the bracket. Continued operation allows the cracks to progress until the bracket fractures and the propeller shaft separates from the vehicle, rendering it inoperable.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, add a reinforcing bracket to the center bearing mounting bracket. If cracks are already present in the center bearing mounting bracket, replace it with a new part.

状況

中型トラックの動力伝達装置において、センターベアリング固定金具の強度が不足しているため、プロペラシャフトの回転振動により、当該固定金具に亀裂が発生するものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、亀裂の進行により当該固定金具が破断し、プロペラシャフトが脱落して、走行不能となるおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、センターベアリング固定金具に補強金具を追加する。 なお、センターベアリング固定金具に亀裂がある場合は、センターベアリング固定金具を新品に交換する。
