Defect
In the drivetrain of large trucks, the center bearing mounting bracket has insufficient strength. Rotational vibration from the propeller shaft causes cracks to develop in the bracket. Continued operation allows the cracks to propagate until the bracket fractures, in the worst case rendering the vehicle inoperable.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, add a reinforcing bracket to the center bearing mounting bracket. If cracks are already present in the mounting bracket, replace it with a new part. As an interim measure pending availability of the reinforcing bracket, inspect the mounting bracket; if cracks are found, add a reinforcing plate and repair by welding. The permanent corrected part will be installed once supply becomes available.

状況
大型トラックの動力伝達装置において、センターベアリング固定金具の強度が不足しているため、プロペラシャフトの回転振動により、当該固定金具に亀裂が発生するものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、亀裂の進行により当該固定金具が破断し、走行不能となるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、センターベアリング固定金具に補強金具を追加するとともに、当該固定金具に亀裂が発生している場合は新品と交換する。 なお、補強金具の供給に時間を要することから、暫定措置として当該固定金具の点検を行い、亀裂が発生しているものは補強板を追加した上で溶接補修し、後日、補強金具が供給され次第対策を実施する。
