Defect
During vehicle scrapping operations, an airbag inflator housing in a front passenger airbag was found to have ruptured. Although the root cause has not yet been determined, inflators of the same production year and type may rupture and fragment upon airbag deployment, potentially causing a vehicle fire or occupant injury. As a precautionary measure, all vehicles will have the affected inflator replaced with a known-good unit and the removed inflators will be collected for failure analysis. If replacement parts are unavailable, an interim measure will disable the front passenger airbag function and display a warning on the passenger sun visor indicating that the airbag is inoperative.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, as a precautionary measure, replace the front passenger airbag inflator with a known-good unit and collect the removed inflator for failure cause investigation. If parts are unavailable, as an interim measure, disable the front passenger airbag and display a warning on the passenger sun visor indicating the airbag will not deploy.

状況
助手席用エアバッグのインフレータ（膨張装置）において、車両解体作業時にインフレータ容器の破損が発生した。このため、原因は判明していないが、同年式で同タイプのインフレータはエアバッグ展開時にインフレータ容器が破損して飛び散り、出火したり乗員が負傷するおそれがあることから、全車両、予防的措置として、当該インフレータを良品に交換する。
改善措置
全車両、予防的措置として、助手席用エアバッグインフレータを良品と交換、回収して不具合原因調査を実施する。 なお、部品が供給できない場合には、暫定措置として助手席用エアバッグの機能を停止するとともに、助手席サンバイザ部に当該エアバッグが作動しない旨の警告を表示する。
