Defect

In the brake master cylinder, the seal groove geometry is incorrectly designed, causing the rubber seal lip to sustain damage when the seal is pressed firmly into the groove. The damage initiates a crack that propagates and allows brake fluid to leak, illuminating the warning light and reducing braking force.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, replace the rubber seal with a corrected part. On vehicles where brake fluid leakage has occurred, also replace the brake booster with a new unit.

状況

制動装置のブレーキマスターシリンダにおいて、シール溝の形状が不適切なため、ゴム製シールが当該溝に強く押し付けられた際にシールリップ部が傷付くことがある。そのため、傷を起点に亀裂が進行してブレーキ液が漏れ、警告灯が点灯し、制動力が低下するおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、ゴム製シールを対策品に交換する。なお、ブレーキ液漏れがあるものは、ブレーキブースタを新品と交換する。
