Defect
On large transit buses equipped with an automatic transmission, the electrical circuit controlling the center door is incorrectly designed. The center door may open while the vehicle is in motion when all of the following conditions are met: (a) during boarding or alighting, the driver places the center door switch in the open position, and the door's photoelectric sensor is then interrupted by a person or object — preventing the door from opening; and (b) following condition (a), the driver continues driving with the center door switch still in the open position, and the photoelectric sensor interruption is subsequently cleared while the vehicle is moving.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, modify the electrical circuit so that the center door cannot open while the vehicle is in motion.

状況
①自動変速機を搭載した大型路線バスにおいて、中扉を制御する電気回路が不適切なため、以下の条件を全て満たした場合、走行中に中扉が開くおそれがある。 ア．乗降時に運転者が中扉スイッチを「開」位置にした後に中扉の光電管が遮断（人・物などを検知）された場合（光電管を遮断しているため、中扉は開かない） イ．アの後に運転者が中扉スイッチを「開」位置にしたままで走行し、走行途中で光電管の遮断が解除された場合
改善措置
①全車両、走行状態では中扉が開かない電気回路に変更する。
