Defect

On large trucks equipped with a spring brake chamber on the front axle, the ABS control valve bracket is incorrectly shaped, leaving insufficient clearance between the right front wheel spring brake chamber and the ABS control valve cover. When the vehicle is fully loaded and only the right wheel travels over a large road irregularity, the two components contact each other and may damage the brake chamber. In the worst case, air leaks from the damaged chamber, causing the parking brake to apply while driving and rendering the vehicle unable to move.

Corrective action

Replace the front axle right-side ABS control valve bracket with a corrected part on all vehicles. Additionally, if contact marks are found on the spring brake chamber or the ABS control valve cover, replace the affected parts with new ones.

状況

前軸にスプリングブレーキチャンバを装着した大型トラックにおいて、ABSコントロールバルブのブラケットの形状が不適切なため、前軸右輪のスプリングブレーキチャンバーとABSコントロールバルブのカバーの間隙が少ない。そのため、積車状態で右輪のみが大きな段差を走行した際に、当該部品が干渉し、ブレーキチャンバーが破損することがあり、最悪の場合、エアが漏れ、走行中に駐車ブレーキが作動し走行できなくなるおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、前軸右側のABSコントロールバルブのブラケットを対策品に交換する。また、スプリングブレーキチャンバーとABSコントロールバルブのカバーに干渉痕があった場合、当該部品を新品に交換する。
