Defect
On heavy-duty tractors equipped with a 12-speed transmission, the flange coupling at the rear of the transmission has insufficient surface hardness on its end face. Bearing creep causes the flange coupling end face to wear, which allows the flange coupling retaining bolts to loosen. Continued operation in this condition can cause the flange coupling to back out and, in the worst case, separate from the vehicle along with the propeller shaft.
Corrective action
Replace the flange coupling and associated bolts on all vehicles with corrected parts, and replace the thrust bearing and O-ring with new parts.

状況
12段式変速機を搭載した大型トラクタにおいて、変速機後端のフランジカップリング端面の表面硬度が不足しているため、ベアリングのクリープに伴いフランジカップリング端面が摩耗し、フランジカップリング締付けボルトが緩むものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、フランジカップリングが抜け出し、最悪の場合、プロペラシャフトとともに脱落するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、フランジカップリングと当該ボルトを対策品に交換するとともに、スラストワッシャ-とOリングを新品に交換する。
