Defect
On large trucks, snow that accumulates on and inside the front panel can melt from the heat of the heater hoses and drip onto the pre-collision brake adjustment valve for the front axle located below. The dripping water may freeze and block the valve's exhaust port, preventing the front axle brakes from releasing fully. Continued use in this condition may cause the vehicle to be unable to move, or may cause the front brakes to drag during driving. In the worst case, this can result in a vehicle fire.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, install a freeze-prevention cover over the exhaust port of the front-axle pre-collision brake adjustment valve.

状況
大型トラックにおいて、フロントパネル内外に付着・堆積した雪がヒーターホース等の熱によって溶け出し、下方にある衝突被害軽減ブレーキの効き具合を調整する弁（前軸用）に滴下すると、当該調整弁の排気口が凍結により閉塞して前軸の制動力が解除不良になる場合がある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると発進不能となり、又は、前輪のブレーキが引きずった状態で走行がなされ、最悪の場合、火災に至るおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、前軸の衝突被害軽減ブレーキ用バルブ（調整弁）の排気口に、凍結防止用カバーを装着する。
