Filing in context
The Engine (General) is the most frequently cited component category in this archive, appearing in 48 of its 4,890 filings. This filing is one of 41 Nissan notifications from 2012 in this archive. Defect
On diesel-powered vehicles, the intake duct has insufficient strength. Stress concentrates at the duct's clamp attachment points, causing cracks to develop. These cracks allow intake air and blowby gas to leak. As a result, the engine warning lamp illuminates and the vehicle may suffer reduced acceleration.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the intake duct and clamp with corrected parts.
