Defect
In the fuel injection pump of the engine, the delivery guide inside the delivery holder received improper heat treatment during the manufacturing process, resulting in initial cracks at the seal surface. Continued use allows these cracks to propagate, which may cause a fuel leak.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the fuel injection pump with one incorporating a conforming delivery guide.
