Defect
On all-wheel-drive vehicles, the rear joint of the front propeller shaft has inadequate water sealing. Water thrown up during driving penetrates the joint, causing insufficient lubrication. Continued operation generates abnormal noise and vibration. In the worst case, the joint fractures, interrupting power delivery to the front wheels and making the vehicle difficult to drive.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, a water deflector plate is added to the rear joint, and both front and rear joints are replaced with corrected parts. Updated service procedures for the corrected joints are also issued.

状況
全輪駆動車の前輪用推進軸において、後ろ側継手部の遮水性能が不適切なため、走行中に巻き上げた水が当該継手部にかかって内部に侵入し、潤滑不良となることがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、異音や振動が発生し、最悪の場合、当該継手が破損して前輪への動力伝達ができなくなり、走行が困難となるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、後ろ側継手部に遮水板を追加するとともに、前後の継手を対策品と交換する。また、対策品の継手の整備方法を通知する。
