Defect
The contact arrangement of the intermittent-operation relay installed in the wiper switch is incorrect. Under frequent intermittent wiper use, the relay contacts may wear and fall out, causing a short circuit. This results in wiper malfunction and, in the worst case, the relay may emit smoke and catch fire.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the wiper switch with a corrected/revised part.

状況
ワイパースイッチに取付けられている間欠作動用リレーの接点配置が不適切なため、間欠作動の使用頻度が高い場合、接点が摩耗・脱落してショートすることがある。そのため、ワイパーが作動不良となり、最悪の場合、リレーが発煙・焼損するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、ワイパースイッチを対策品と交換する。
