Defect
Due to improper assembly of the propellant charge inside the passenger-side airbag inflator, some inflators contain an insufficient quantity of propellant. Vehicle vibration may cause the propellant to degrade into a powder. If the airbag deploys, the resulting abnormal pressure rise inside the inflator may rupture the canister and scatter fragments, potentially injuring the occupant.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the affected inflator with a conforming part.

状況
助手席用エアバッグのインフレータ(膨張装置)内のガス発生剤組付け作業が不適切なため、ガス発生剤の装填量が不足しているものがある。そのため、車両の振動でガス発生剤が粉状となり、エアバッグが展開するとインフレータ内圧の異常な上昇で容器が破損して構成部品が飛散し、乗員が負傷するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該インフレータを良品に交換する。
