Defect
Insufficient heat treatment of the gear-shift shaft surface inside the transmission allows repeated shifting to initiate a crack in the shaft, which may progress to a complete fracture. If this occurs, the transmission warning light illuminates, gear changes become impossible, and the engine stalls upon stopping, rendering the vehicle inoperable.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the affected gear-shift shaft with a conforming part.

状況
トランスミッション内部の変速用シャフト表面の熱処理が不十分なため、シフト操作を繰り返すと当該シャフトに亀裂が発生し、折損することがある。そのため、トランスミッション警告灯が点灯して、変速不能となり、停車と同時にエンジンが停止し走行不能となるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該変速用シャフトを良品に交換する。
