Defect

On vehicles equipped with a hand-operated driving aid device for brake pedal actuation, the weld joining the brake link plate to the shaft — which transmits operating force — has insufficient strength on some units. When the vehicle is stationary and the brake arm is pushed further inward, excessive force is applied to the weld, causing a crack to develop. Continued use allows the crack to propagate and, in the worst case, the weld fractures, resulting in complete loss of braking.

Corrective action

On all affected vehicles, replace the complete brake link assembly of the driving aid device with a conforming replacement unit.

状況

ブレーキペダルを手動で操作するための運転補助装置装着車両において、操作力を伝達するブレーキリンクプレートとシャフトの溶接強度に不十分なものがあるため、車両が停止した状態で、ブレーキアームをさらに押し込むと当該溶接部に過大な力がかかり亀裂が生じる場合がある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると溶接部の亀裂が進行し、最悪の場合、破断してブレーキが効かなくなるおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、当該運転補助装置のブレーキリンク一式を良品と交換する。
