|---|---|
| Type | Statutory Recall (government-mandated recall) |
| Date filed | July 17, 2008 |
| Manufacturer(s) | Honda |
| Component | Exhaust Emission Reduction Device |
| Production period | October 2007 — June 13, 2008 |

Defect
The engine control unit software that monitors catalytic converter degradation in the exhaust system is defective. During degradation detection, the oxygen concentration in the catalytic converter may become excessive, causing an increase in nitrogen oxide emissions. As a result, exhaust emission levels may exceed the Safety Standards.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, reprogram the engine control unit software.
