Defect
The cage of the needle roller bearing supporting the 3rd-gear set inside the transmission has insufficient strength. Loads imposed by the 3rd-gear set may cause the cage to deform or fracture. Continued operation allows the condition to progress, resulting in shift malfunction and abnormal noise and, in the worst case, seizure of the bearing and loss of vehicle mobility. Note: This recall supplements notification no. 1277 (October 20, 2004), which contained errors in the affected vehicle selection; additional vehicles have been identified and are covered under this new filing.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the 3rd-gear bearing with the corrected part. Inspect bearings at all other gear positions and replace with the corrected part if any abnormality is found. Alternatively, replace the entire transmission assembly with one incorporating the corrected bearings.

状況
変速機（トランスミッション）内部の３速歯車を支えるベアリング（ニードルローラーベアリング）の保持器の強度が不十分なため、３速の歯車より加わる荷重等により当該保持器が変形・破損することがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、シフト不良、異音等が発生して、最悪の場合、当該ベアリングが焼き付き走行不能となるおそれがある。 備考）本件は、平成１６年１０月２０日付け「届出番号１２７７」にてリコール届出を行ったものですが、対象車両の選定に一部誤りがあったため、対象車両を追加し、新たに届出するものです。
改善措置
全車両、３速のベアリングを対策品と交換し、その他の変速段は点検して異常があれば対策品と交換する。 又は、対策品のベアリングを組み込んだトランスミッション一式と交換する。
