Defect

On police vehicles, the rubber diaphragm inside the brake booster has insufficient heat resistance. Heat generated within the engine compartment causes the diaphragm to thermally degrade and develop cracks. Continued use allows the cracks to progress, impairing the booster's assist function and extending stopping distance.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, replace the brake booster with the corrected part.

状況

警察車において、制動倍力装置(ブレーキブースタ)内にあるゴム製ダイヤフラムの耐熱性が不足しているため、原動機室内の熱影響により、当該ダイヤフラムが熱劣化して亀裂が発生することがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると亀裂が進行し、倍力作用が損なわれて制動停止距離が伸びるおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、ブレーキブースタを対策品と交換する。
