Defect

The rear axle shaft material on single rear-axle heavy-duty trucks is incorrect, resulting in insufficient strength near the flange base under the high input loads experienced during vehicle launch. Aggressive operation such as sudden starts may fracture the shaft, rendering the vehicle inoperable.
