Defect
The automatic transmission electronic control unit contains incorrect software. Additionally, on vehicles equipped with an electric-fan type transmission fluid cooling system, the insertion depth of the connector for the electric fan oil temperature sensor is incorrect. Under certain driving conditions, these defects may cause transmission fluid temperature to rise excessively. A warning lamp illuminates, but if driving continues, the lubricating capacity of the fluid decreases. Rotating components inside the transmission then wear and become damaged, causing a reduction in drive force and, in the worst case, rendering the vehicle inoperable.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the automatic transmission electronic control unit with the corrected part. On vehicles equipped with an electric-fan type cooling system, replace the oil temperature sensor mounting connector with the corrected part. Transmissions found to be defective are to be replaced with serviceable units. Because full supply of corrected parts will require time, as an interim measure owners are to be notified to contact their dealer if the oil temperature warning lamp illuminates or a reduction in drive force is observed.

状況
②自動変速機電子制御ユニットのプログラムが不適切なため、また、自動変速機の作動油 冷却装置が電動ファン式の車両においては、電動ファン作動用油温センサーのコネクタ ーへの挿入深さが不適切なため、走行条件により変速機作動油温が過度に上昇する場合 がある。そのため、警告灯が点灯するが、そのままの状態で走行を続けた場合、作動油 の潤滑能力が低下するため、当該変速機内部の回転部品が磨耗損傷して、駆動力が低下 し、最悪の場合、走行不能となるおそれがある
改善措置
②全車両、自動変速機電子制御ユニットを対策品と交換する。自動変速機の作動油冷却装 置が電動ファン式の車両においては、油温センサー取付けコネクターを対策品と交換す る。 また、変速機に異常があるものは、良品と交換する。 なお、対策品の全数供給に時間を要するため当面の暫定措置として、油温警告灯の点灯 または駆動力の低下がある場合は販売会社に連絡するようユーザーの注意を喚起する。
