Defect
The anti-corrosion treatment applied to the cross member — the frame-side mounting component for the torque rod that secures the rear axle — is inadequate on affected vehicles. As a result, road de-icing agents and similar substances cause rust to develop and progress on the cross member, reducing its structural strength. In the worst case, the cross member can fracture, causing the torque rod to detach and compromising vehicle driving stability.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect for corrosion and apply anti-corrosion treatment. On vehicles with severe rust, add reinforcement before applying anti-corrosion treatment.

状況
後車軸を固定するトルクロッドの車枠側取り付け部の部材(クロスメンバー)の防錆処理 に不適切なものがある。 そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、融雪剤等により 錆が発生・進行するため、クロスメンバーの強度が低下し、最悪の場合、クロスメンバー が折損して、トルクロッドが脱落し、走行安定性が損なわれるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、腐食状況を点検して防錆処理を行なう。 又、錆の発生が著しいものは補強を追加して防錆処理を行なう。
