Defect
Variation in the installation of the water-droplet deflection filter in the interior cooler unit results in insufficient clearance between the filter and the resistor on some units. As the filter becomes clogged during use, reduced airflow causes greater filter deformation, further narrowing the gap between the filter and the resistor. Continued use allows the resistor, which overheats due to insufficient airflow, to contact the filter and scorch it. In the worst case, this can result in a vehicle fire.
Corrective action
Replace the water-droplet deflection filter on all vehicles with a corrected part, and add a dust filter at the cooler air intake.

状況
室内用クーラーの水滴飛散防止用フィルタ取付時のバラツキにより、フィルタとレジスタ の隙間が少ないものがある。また、使用過程において当該フィルタの目詰まりにより、風 量によるフィルタ変形量が大きくなり、更にレジスタとの隙間が少なくなることがある。 そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、風量不足により高温となったレジスタとフィルタが 接触して焼損し、最悪の場合、火災にいたるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、水滴飛散防止用フィルタを対策品に交換すると共に、クーラー吸入口に防塵フィ ルタを追加する。
