Issue

On vehicles equipped with full-air brake systems, the seal guide that retains the airtight seal in the front brake chamber has insufficient strength. Vibration during braking may cause the seal guide to fracture. Fragments of the fractured seal guide become lodged in the air valve, and continued operation may cause air to leak from the valve during braking. In the worst case, stopping distance is extended beyond the driver's expectation.

Corrective action

Replace the brake chamber assembly on all affected vehicles with the corrected part.

状況

フルエア式ブレーキ装着車の前輪用ブレーキチャンバにおいて、気密保持用シールを押さえるシールガイドの強度が不足しているため、制動時の振動により破損するものがある。そのため、破損したシールガイドの破片がエアバルブに噛み込み、そのままの状態で使用すると、最悪の場合、制動時にエアバルブからエア洩れが発生し、運転者の予測より制動距離が長くなるおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、当該ブレーキチャンバ一式を対策品と交換する。
