Defect
A wiring clamp located beneath the fuel tank is bent in the wrong direction, causing interference between the clamp and the fuel pump wiring terminals on some vehicles. Continued use abrades the insulation on the affected terminals. If the insulation is damaged, a short circuit may occur, blowing the fuel and ignition system fuses and causing the engine to stall suddenly.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the fuel pump wiring terminals and re-bend the clamp to the correct orientation to properly secure the wiring. If the wiring insulation is damaged, replace the fuel pump assembly with a new unit.

状況
燃料タンク下側で車体に電気配線を固定するクランプの曲げ方向が逆なため、燃料ポン プの電気配線端子とクランプが干渉しているものがあり、そのまま使用を続けると、当該 電気端子の被覆が擦れて損傷すると短絡して、燃料・点火系ヒューズが切れ、原動機が突 然停止するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、燃料ポンプの電気配線端子を点検し、クランプを正規方向に曲げて電気配線を 固定するとともに、当該配線の被覆が損傷しているものは燃料ポンプを新品と交換する。
