Defect
On police motorcycles, the sealant applied to plug the machined oil passage holes in the generator cooling circuit was applied incorrectly. This causes the cooling oil passage to become blocked, raising the temperature of the generator coil until the coil insulation melts and a short circuit occurs, resulting in loss of generating function. In the worst case, the engine may stall while the vehicle is in motion.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the generator cover with a non-defective part. On vehicles where the oil passage in the generator cover is confirmed to be blocked, also replace the coil and rotor with new parts.

状況
二輪警察車の発電機において、冷却用油路の加工穴を密封する封着剤の塗布方法が不適切 なため、冷却用油路が詰まり発電機コイルの温度が上昇し、コイルの皮膜が溶けてコイル が短絡し発電不能となり、最悪の場合、走行中原動機が停止するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、発電機カバーを良品に交換する。 なお、発電機カバーの油路の詰まりがあるものはコイルとローターを新品に交換する。
