Defect
The structure of the heat shield mounting area on the muffler is improper. Exhaust back-pressure vibration damages the mounting area, allowing exhaust gases to leak. The exhaust heat then melts the nylon tube used for the parking brake release air line. In the worst case, air pressure in the brake system drops and the emergency brake activates.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the affected muffler and heat shield with corrected parts. Because supply of the corrected parts requires additional lead time, as an interim measure, inspect the affected components and replace any that show damage or other abnormalities with conforming parts, followed by replacement with corrected parts at a later date.

状況
消音器の遮熱板取付部の構造が不適切なため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、排気ガ スの排圧による振動で、当該部が破損して排気ガスが漏れ、排気熱により駐車ブレーキ解 放エア用ナイロンチューブが溶損し、最悪の場合、ブレーキ系統のエア圧が不足し、非常 ブレーキが作動するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該消音器及び遮熱板を対策品に交換する。なお、対策品の供給に時間を要する ため、当面の暫定措置として、当該部品を点検し、破損等異常があるものについては良品 と交換し、後日対策品に交換する。
