Defect

The mounting angle and mounting position of the bracket supporting the propeller shaft center bearing retainer are improper. Continued operation subjects the retainer to excessive stress from eccentric rotation, causing it to fracture. In the worst case, the vehicle may become inoperable.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, replace the affected retainer with the corrected part to establish the proper mounting position. Where the mounting angle is incorrect, correct it using adjustment shims.

状況

動力伝達装置において、プロペラシャフトの中間軸受け保持金具を支える取付部材の取付 角度及び取付位置に不適切なものがあるため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、偏芯回 転による過度な応力により、当該保持金具が破断するものがあり、最悪の場合、走行不能 に至るおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、当該保持金具を対策品と交換することにより、取付位置を適正にし、取付角度が 不適切なものは、調整シムで補正する。
