Defect
On four-wheel-drive vehicles, the liquid sealant applied to the mating surfaces of the input shaft case and output shaft case of the transfer gearbox was improperly applied on certain units, allowing transfer lubricant to leak. Continued use may cause the bearing supporting the output shaft to fail due to insufficient lubrication and, in the worst case, render the vehicle inoperable.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the transfer gearbox for lubricant leaks and install an O-ring at the mating surfaces. On vehicles where lubricant leakage has occurred, replace the transfer gearbox with the corrected part.

状況
4輪駆動車における後輪に動力を伝達するためのギヤボックス(トランスファ)におい て、入力軸ケースと出力軸ケースの合わせ面に使用している液状漏れ止め剤(シーラント )に塗布不良のものがあるため、当該トランスファの潤滑油が漏れる場合があり、このま まの状態で使用を続けると、最悪の場合、出力軸を支えているベアリングが潤滑不良によ り破損し、走行できなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、トランスファの潤滑油漏れ状況を点検するとともに、当該合わせ面にOリング を取り付ける。なお、潤滑油漏れが発生している車両は、トランスファを対策品と交換す る。
