Defect
The mounting shaft for the retraction spring of the front seat three-point seat belt retractor was manufactured defectively on certain units. This defect causes the spring to become misaligned during retraction, leading to strong interference between the spring and its seat. Continued use may cause slack to develop in the seat belt when fastened and, in the worst case, the seat belt may fail to retract.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the identification label on the front seat belt. If the manufacturing lot number is 1Z11 (manufactured on December 11, 1991) or earlier, replace the seat belt retractor assembly with a conforming unit.

状況
前席三点式シ－トベルト装着後のシ－トベルト巻き取り用スプリング取付軸に製造不良の ものがあるため、巻き取り作動時にスプリングが不整列となり、このままの状態で使用を 続けると、当該スプリングとスプリングシ－トが強く干渉するため、シ－トベルト装着時 にたるみが発生し、最悪の場合、シ－トベルトが巻き取られなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、前席シ－トベルトの識別ラベルを点検し、製造ロット番号１Ｚ１１（平成３年１ ２月１１日製）以前のものは、シ－トベルト巻き取り装置を良品と交換する。
