Issue

The fuel tray drain tube on the fuel tank is mounted in an incorrect position, allowing rainwater to enter through the drain tube outlet during wet-weather driving and intrude into the fuel tank. If the fuel pump draws in this water, the engine runs roughly and may stall. Additionally, the intruding water causes the bottom of the fuel tank to rust. Continued use allows the rust to progress and, in the worst case, results in a fuel leak.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, clean the fuel tray drain tube and reposition it, replace the fuel tray with a corrected part, and replace the fuel tank, fuel pump, injectors, and fuel hose with new parts.

状況

燃料タンクのフューエルトレイドレンチューブの取付け位置が不適切なため、雨天走行でドレンチューブ排出口から入った雨水が燃料タンク内に侵入することがある。そのため、燃料ポンプが水を吸い込むとエンジン不調となり、エンジンが停止するおそれがある。また、侵入した水の影響により、燃料タンク底部が錆び、そのままの状態で使用を続けると錆が進行し、最悪の場合、燃料が漏れるおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、フューエルトレイドレンチューブを清掃し、取付位置を変更するとともに、フューエルトレイを対策品に交換する。また、燃料タンク、燃料ポンプ、インジェクタ、燃料ホースを新品に交換する。
