Issue
In the driver-side airbag system, the shape of the fabric airbag cover retaining the folded bag is incorrect. During airbag deployment, the steering wheel pad may fracture at locations other than the intended tear seam, causing the lower half of the pad to separate from the steering wheel. In the worst case, the detached pad may strike the vehicle occupant.
Corrective action
Replace the airbag assembly on all vehicles with a corrected unit incorporating a redesigned fabric cover.

状況
運転車席用エアバック装置において、格納したバッグを保持している布製のエアバッグ カバーの形状が不適切なため、エアバッグ展開時にステアリングホイールパッドの破断部 位以外の下部が破断し、当該パッドの下半分がステアリングホイールから外れることがあ り、最悪の場合、外れたパッドが乗員に当たるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該エアバッグ装置を布製カバーの形状を改良した対策品と交換する。
