Issue

① In the hydraulic brake booster, gas enclosed in the piston-type accumulator (a pressure-storage device for maintaining brake fluid supply pressure) mounted in the engine compartment slowly leaks past the piston seal and into the brake fluid. Continued use causes the enclosed gas to diminish, making the accumulator unable to absorb pressure fluctuations when the pump pressurizes the brake fluid, resulting in abnormal noise inside the passenger compartment. ③ In the low brake fluid pressure warning buzzer pressure switch of the hydraulic brake booster, the activation pressure setting is incorrect in some units. As a result, the warning buzzer may sound even when brake fluid pressure has not dropped.

Corrective action

① On all vehicles, replace the piston-type accumulator with a diaphragm-type accumulator. ③ On all vehicles, replace the warning pressure switch with a conforming part.

状況

①油圧式制動倍力装置において、エンジンルーム内に取り付けられているピストン式アキ ュームレータ(ブレーキ液の供給圧確保用蓄圧器)に封入されたガス(液圧変動吸収用) がピストンのシール部からブレーキ液を介してわずかずつ洩れるため、このままの状態で 使用を続けると、封入ガスが減少し、ポンプによるブレーキ液加圧時の圧力変動を吸収で きなくなり、車室内に異音が発生する。 ③油圧式制動倍力装置のブレーキ液圧低下警報ブザーの圧力スイッチにおいて、当該スイ ッチの作動圧の設定に不適切なものがあるため、ブレーキ液圧が低下していない状態にも かかわらず警報ブザーが鳴るおそれがある。

改善措置

①全車両、ダイヤフラム式アキュームレータに交換する。 ③全車両、当該警報用圧力スイッチを良品と交換する。
