Defect
In certain driver-side SRS airbag inflators, the inflator housing may rupture due to excessive internal pressure during airbag deployment, causing components to scatter. This may result in injury to vehicle occupants.
Corrective action
On all affected vehicles, replace the driver-side SRS airbag inflator with an alternative unit.
