Defect
During the design phase of the integrated rear lighting assembly on van-type trucks, compliance of the mounting position with regulatory standards was not verified. Consequently, the tail lamp illumination section is mounted more than 400 mm inboard from the outermost edge of the vehicle, which does not conform to Article 37, Paragraph 3 of the Safety Standards.
Corrective action
Relocate the lighting assembly so that the outermost edge of the tail lamp illumination section falls within 400 mm of the outermost edge of the vehicle. Alternatively, replace the lighting assembly with one whose tail lamp illumination section outer edge is within 400 mm of the outermost edge of the vehicle.

状況
バン型トラックの後面に備える一体型灯火器において、設計時に取付位置の基準適合性の確認を怠ったため、尾灯照明部が自動車の最外側から４００ｍｍを超えて取り付けられ、保安基準第３７条第３項に適合しない。
改善措置
尾灯照明部の最外縁が自動車の最外側から４００ｍｍ以内となるよう灯火器を移設する。または、尾灯照明部の最外縁が自動車の最外側から４００ｍｍ以内となる灯火器に交換する。
