Defect

On the engine camshaft, a programming error in the heat treatment machine caused the exhaust cam to be improperly heat-treated, leaving the cam surface with insufficient hardness. The exhaust cam undergoes abnormal wear, producing abnormal noise. Continued operation can cause the engine to stall and become unable to restart.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, replace the camshaft with a conforming part.

状況

原動機のカムシャフトにおいて、熱処理機のプログラム調整ミスによりエキゾーストカムの熱処理が不適切なため、表面硬度が不足しているものがある。そのため、エキゾーストカムが異常摩耗して異音が発生し、そのまま使用を続けると原動機が停止し、再始動できなくなるおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、カムシャフトを良品と交換する。
