Defect
On heavy- and medium-duty trucks, the bolts and nuts securing the steering column were not tightened properly, resulting in insufficient torque on some vehicles. Continued operation may cause the bolts and nuts to loosen, producing play in the steering column. In the worst case, if the bolts and nuts fall out, normal steering control may be lost.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the bolts and nuts securing the steering column. If any fastener is not tightened to the specified torque, tighten it to the specified value.

状況
大・中型トラックにおいて、ステアリングコラムを固定しているボルト・ナットの締付けが不適切なため、当該ボルト・ナットの締付けトルクが不足しているものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、当該ボルト・ナットが緩んでステアリングコラムにガタが生じ、最悪の場合、当該ボルト・ナットが脱落すると正常なステアリング操作が出来なくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、ステアリングコラムを固定しているボルト・ナットを点検し、規定トルクで締付けられていない場合は規定トルクで締付ける。
